      With contemplation, practice and cultivation worship the Dharma King. The adornments of blessings and wisdom make a wondrous Bodhimanda. If one can then certify to the profound Prajna, one will pass beyond suffering and distress to awaken to true permanence.

SERIES: The color green on this month's cover represents the arisal of wood out of water, whose color is black (represented on the cover by the violet color). Simply stated: because there is water, trees can grow. Hater is connected with winter, the north, cold, and in the body., the kidneys. Wood is connected with spring, the east, wind, and in the body, the liver.

April 30 Birthday of Chundi Bodhisattva and of Venerable Master Hua.

May 1 Great Master Ch'ang Chih left the Home-Life.

May 14 First of lunar month.

May 17 Manjushri Bodhisattva's birthday.

May (18)&21 Shakyamuni Buddha's birthday. NOTE: This important holiday will be celebrated at the City of Ten Thousand Buddhas on May 18th and at Gold Mountain Monastery on May 21th. This is an opportunity to cleanse your self-nature as you participate in the efficacious ritual of bathing the image of the infant Buddha.
