Series: Fire gives rise to earth. Simply stated, the ashes resulting from a fire belong to the element earth. Earth, the yellow color on the cover of this issue, is shown emerging out of fire, the red hue on the cover. Whereas fire belongs to the south, earth represents the middle. Therefore, in Buddhism, yellow or tones of the earth-color are worn by Buddhist Sangha, to represent the Middle Way, which does not fa11 into views of annihilationism or eternalism.
