DRBU SPECIAL SEMINAR: BUDDHISM AND MODERN PHYSICS: July 21-August 1

Two seminars will be presented during the last week of July at the City of Ten Thousand Buddhas, sponsored by Dharma Realm Buddhist University.

MEDITATION IN ACTIVE LIFE taught by Dharma Master Heng K'ung, instructor in meditation. Dharma Master K'ung's personal practice includes a 68 day fast during which he only consumed a little water each day; three years' recitation of the Surangama Mantra forty-nine times daily without fail (This practice takes about nine hours to complete each day), and an on going dedication to developing skill in meditation and practicing the Bodhisattva Path.

THE CONCEPTUAL DEVELOPMENT OF QUANTUM MECHANICS taught by Gary Zukav, author of the Dancing Wu Li Masters: An Overview of the New Physics.

DEDICATION OF THE GATE AT THE CITY OF TEN THOUSAND BUDDHAS will take place on August 30, 1980, in honor of Earth Store King Bodhisattva.

WEEKLONG RECITATION OF THE NAME OF EARTH STORE KING BODHISATTVA. This intensive session commences on the day of the dedication of the gate, AUGUST 30, and continues through SEPTEMBER 6.

THE BRAHMA NET SUTRA: study session. JULY 31-AUGUST 29.

This important sutra explains the Bodhisattva precepts. The lecturer will be Elder Master Hui Seng. An ideal opportunity to study these precepts held by both lay people and members of the Sangha, this special lecture series will be held at the City of Ten Thousand Buddhas.
