如來聲震十方國。一切言音悉圓滿。
普覺群生無有餘。調伏聞此心歡慶。

「如來聲震十方國」:如來的光是充滿十方法界,如來的聲是遍震十方國土 。

「一切言音悉圓滿」:佛所說的言語和音聲,都是圓滿的。

「普覺群生無有餘」:普遍覺悟一切眾生,沒有一個眾生被遺漏而沒有得到覺悟。

「調伏聞此心歡慶」:這位海音調伏身眾神,他聽到這種聲音,心生歡喜而慶幸。

佛身清淨恆寂滅。普現眾色無諸像。
如是遍住於世間。此淨華神之所入。

「佛身清淨恆寂滅」:佛身是清淨寂滅,不動本處周遍十方的。

「普現眾色無諸像」:所謂「諸法從本來,常自寂滅相,不生亦不滅,不可以言詮。」佛身普現出一切妙有的色身,可是沒有一切的相,也就是真空。在真空見妙有,妙有也就是真空。

「如是遍住於世間」:像這樣的真空妙有,普遍住於十方世界。

「此淨華神之所入」:這是凈華嚴髻身眾神,他所入的解脫門。

導師如是不思議。隨眾生心悉令見。
或坐或行或時住。無量威儀所悟門。

「導師如是不思議」:接引大導師,是不可以心思,不可以言議。

「隨眾生心悉令見」:隨著眾生的心,令眾生都見佛。

「或坐或行或時住」:或者看見佛坐著,或者看見佛行路,或者看見佛在那站著,或者看見佛在那地方。

「無量威儀所悟門」:眾生見著佛行、住、坐、臥四大威儀中,都是莊嚴具足威儀。無量威儀也就是三千威儀,八萬細行。這是無量威儀身眾神,他見到佛的威儀而明白這種解脫門。

佛百千劫難逢遇。出興利益能自在。
令世悉離貧窮苦。最勝光嚴入斯處。

「佛百千劫難逢遇」:佛是不容易遇著的,我們現在都是處於八難之中的佛後之難。我們出世時佛已入了涅槃,我們和佛沒有這麼深的緣,所以遇不見佛出世,在百千萬劫也不容易遇到佛。

「出興利益能自在」:佛出興於世,利益一切眾生,用自在神通的妙用。

「令世悉離貧窮苦」:佛令一切世界所有的眾生,完全離開貧窮的苦,得到法的利益。人若不明白佛法,就是貧窮。明白佛法,就是富貴。

「最勝光嚴入斯處」:這位最勝光嚴身眾神,他入了這種解脫門。

如來一一齒相間。普放香燈光燄雲。
滅除一切眾生惑。離垢雲神如是見。

「如來一一齒相間」:佛的每一個牙齒之問。

「普放香燈光燄雲」:普放出一種香燈光燄雲,這燈放出種種的香,又放出種種的光,而結成一種燄雲。

「滅除一切眾生惑」:眾生的迷惑,被這種燄雲的光一照,都消滅了。

「離垢雲神如是見」:這位離垢雲神身眾神,他明白這種的解脫門。

眾生染惑為重障。隨逐魔徑常流轉。
如來開示解脫道。守護執持能悟入。

「眾生染惑為重障」:眾生被這染污法所迷惑,所以就不清淨,不清淨就生出種種的重障來了,遮住了自性,般若的光也不現出來。

「隨逐魔徑常流轉」:正式說法的法會,就這麼冷冷清清的,只有十多個,二十多個在這兒研究佛法。若是開一個歌舞搖擺大會,那幾千人幾萬人都往那兒跑去了,入場還要買一張票才能進去,不買票是不能進去。

好像某某人唱的歌做的唱片,說是送給人,一大群人就去搶,甚至於打出人命來,這就叫做隨逐魔徑常流轉。怎麼叫隨逐魔徑常流轉?跳舞是一種染污法,看電影是一種染污法,可是都要花錢又愛看。我們在這講經說法不要錢,他們卻不來,說不定我們這兒要錢的話,他們就會來了。又或者某某地方有表演脫衣舞,這個是寧可不睡覺也要去看。你說,這有什麼看頭呢?看了有什麼好處呢?甚至於連這要出家的人,也要去看看脫衣舞,你說這是可憐不可憐?這就叫隨逐魔徑常流轉。好像明明知道吃毒藥是不好,他一定要買來吃,這都叫做隨逐魔徑常流轉。

「如來開示解脫道」:佛為種種顛倒的眾生開示,令其走向解脫的道路。

「守護執持能悟入」:這位守護執身眾神,他能了悟這種的解脫門。

我觀如來自在力。光布法界悉充滿。
處王宮殿化眾生。此普現神之境界。

「我觀如來自在力」:我觀察觀察佛的自在大威神力。
「光布法界悉充滿」:佛的這種大光明,皆散布到十方法界,所有的法界完全充滿了佛光。

「處王宮殿化眾生」:佛住在王的宮殿裏,來教化一切的眾生。

「此普現神之境界」:這是普現身眾神,他所明了的境界。

眾生迷妄具眾苦。佛在其中常救護。
皆令滅惑生喜心。不動光神所觀見。

「眾生迷妄具眾苦」:所有的眾生,因為顛倒而迷失正路,妄想紛飛像小鳥似的非常的多,所以眾生具備了所有的苦。所謂三苦、八苦、無量諸苦都具足了。

「佛在其中常救護」:佛在六道裏頭常常救護一切的苦惱眾生。

「皆令滅惑生喜心」:佛普令一切眾生把迷惑滅除了,生出一種歡喜快樂的心。

「不動光神所觀見」:這是不動光明身眾神,他所了解的解脫門。

復次,妙色那羅延執金剛神,得見如來示現無邊色相身解脫門。

我們講經,不能完全的把意思都給講出來,如果你想完全知道的話,就要自己去研究。講經如果都能把自己的意思都講出來,這部經那更不知道什麼時候講完了。不要說長的經,就是短的經,也不能把其中所有的意思講出來。經的意思是無窮無盡的,就是短的經,也無法將其中所有的義理完全講出來,也要經過很長的時間。

Sutra:
The Thus Come One's sound rocks the countries of the ten directions.
All his speech and sounds are full and perfect.
Universally enlightening the flocks of beings without exception.
Hearing this, Taming and Subduing rejoices in his heart.

Commentary:
The Thus Come One's sound rocks the countries of the ten directions. The Thus Come One's sound pervasively fills the Dharma Realm, as does his light. The Thus Come One's body also fills the ten directions of the Dharma Realm. All his speech and sounds are full and perfect. The Buddha's words and the sound of his voice are perfect. Universally enlightening the flocks of beings without exception. The Buddha awakens all living beings, not leaving any out. Hearing about this state, the Multi-bodied Spirit Taming and Subduing rejoices in his heart. He is extremely happy.

Sutra:
The Buddha's body is pure and constantly tranquil.
He displays myriads of forms everywhere, yet is devoid of marks.
In this way he pervasively dwells in all worlds.
This is what the Spirit Pure Flowers has entered.

Commentary:
The Buddha's body is pure and constantly tranquil. The Buddha's body does not leave its original place, yet pervades the ten directions. He displays myriads of forms everywhere, yet is devoid of marks. The Buddha's body is still and tranquil. "All dharmas, from the very beginning, are always still and tranquil, and cannot be described in words." The Buddha displays all bodies of wonderful existence, but these bodies are apart from marks; they are part of true emptiness. True emptiness reveals wonderful existence; wonderful existence is simply true emptiness. In this way, within true emptiness and wonderful existence, he pervasively dwells in all worlds throughout the ten directions. This state and this liberation door is what the Spirit Pure Flowers has entered.  

Sutra:
The Guiding Master is inconceivable in this way.
According to their thoughts, living beings are able to see him.
Whether sitting, walking, or sometimes standing.
Limitless Aspects of Awesome Comportment awakened to this door.

Commentary:
The Guiding Master is inconceivable in this way. The great Guiding Master who receives and guides living beings can neither be conceived of with the mind nor described in words.  

According to their thoughts, living beings are able to see him. Living beings are able to see the Buddha, whether sitting, walking, or sometimes standing. They may see the Buddha sitting there, walking, or just standing. Whether the Buddha is walking, standing, sitting, or reclining, Limitless Aspects of Awesome Comportment awakened to this door. "Limitless aspects of awesome comportment" refers to the three thousand modes of awesome comportment and the eighty thousand subtle practices. This multi-bodied spirit has seen the Buddha's awesome comportment and understood this door to liberation.  

Sutra:
The Buddha is difficult to encounter in a hundred thousand eons.
He comes forth to benefit beings with sovereign ease,
Helping the whole world to escape the misery of poverty.
Supreme Light Adornment has entered this state.

Commentary:
The Buddha is difficult to encounter in a hundred thousand eons. All of us have been born after the Buddha's time. This is one of the eight difficulties. We have come into the world when the Buddha has already entered Nirvana. Since we lack profound affinities with the Buddha, we have not been born in the Buddha's time. It is hard to meet a Buddha even in a hundred million eons. It is not easy at all. He comes forth to benefit beings with sovereign ease. The Buddha appears in the world to benefit living beings through the wondrous functioning of his sovereign spiritual powers, helping the whole world to escape the misery of poverty and attain the benefit of the Dharma. The poorest people are those who do not understand the Buddhadharma. The richest are those who understand the Buddhadharma. The Multi-bodied Spirit named Supreme Light Adornment has entered this state and attained this door to liberation.  

Sutra:
From every gap between the Thus Come One's teeth,
Flaming clouds of light from fragrant lamps are emitted,
Extinguishing the delusions of all living beings.
The Spirit Immaculate Cloud perceives in this way.

 Commentary:
From every gap between the Thus Come One's teeth, / Flaming clouds of light from fragrant lamps are emitted. These lamps give off various kinds of fragrance and light that form into blazing clouds, extinguishing the delusions of all living beings. Once illumined by this light, all living beings' confusion and doubts completely disappear. The Multi-bodied Spirit Immaculate Cloud perceives in this way and understands this door to liberation.  

Sutra:
Living beings' defiled delusions are heavy obstacles.
Following demonic paths, they constantly drift and wander.
The Thus Come One reveals the path of liberation.
One Who Protects and Supports can awaken to and enter this.

 Commentary:
Living beings' defiled delusions are heavy obstacles. Living beings are deluded by defiled dharmas, so they lose their purity. In that state of impurity, all sorts of heavy obstacles arise, covering their inherent natures until the light of Prajna cannot shine forth.

Following demonic paths, they constantly drift and wander. Take a look. Only a few people attend Dharma assemblies where the Dharma is lectured. There are only twenty people or so here studying the Buddhadharma. Rock concerts, however, are attended by thousands or tens of thousands people who have to buy tickets to get in. If a famous rock star's records are being given away, everyone goes crazy trying to grab one; people even come to blows over it. This is exactly what this line is referring to—being influenced by demons' insanity and constantly drifting and wandering. Dancing is a defiled dharma, as are watching movies or plays. Nevertheless, people want to do these things and are willing to pay for them. Our Dharma lectures are free, yet they don't come. Maybe if we charged an entrance fee, they would want to come.

If there is a striptease show, people will even go without sleep so they can watch it. Really, what is there worth seeing? What benefits are there in watching it? Even those who plan to leave the home life first want to see the striptease show. Isn't that pathetic? That's another example of following the insanity of demons and running about.  

People also know that taking dope is harmful, yet they still buy it and take it. That is also to follow the insanity of demons and run about.  

Sutra:
I have contemplated the Thus Come One's sovereign power.
His light spreads throughout the Dharma Realm, filling it entirely.
Dwelling in the royal palace, he transforms living beings.
This is the state of the Spirit Universally Manifesting.

Commentary:
I have contemplated the Thus Come One's sovereign spiritual power. / His brilliant light spreads throughout the Dharma Realm, filling it entirely. / Dwelling in the royal palace, he transforms living beings. The Buddha lived in a king's palace, and he taught and transformed all living beings. This is the state of the Multi-bodied Spirit Universally Manifesting. He understood this state.  

Sutra:
Living beings, confused by falseness,
undergo the myriad sufferings.
The Buddha is in their midst, constantly rescuing
and protecting them,
Enabling them to obliterate their delusion
and produce happy thoughts.
The Spirit named Unmoving Radiance has made this observation.

Commentary:
Living beings, confused by falseness, having strayed off the proper path and become caught up in a profusion of false thoughts, undergo the myriad sufferings. Their numerous false thoughts are like birds flying every which way, bringing on every kind of suffering—the three sufferings, the eight sufferings, and the limitless sufferings. They undergo all these sufferings. The Buddha is in their midst in the six paths, constantly rescuing and protecting them, / Enabling them to obliterate their delusion and produce happy thoughts. / The Multi-bodied Spirit named Unmoving Radiance has made this observation and understood this door to liberation.  

Sutra:
Moreover, the Vajra-wielding Spirit named Wondrous Color Narayana obtained the liberation door of seeing the Thus Come One manifest bodies of boundless forms.

Commentary:
Who can explain the word Narayana? What does it mean? [A disciple explains.] You cannot completely explain the meaning. If people want to know more, they have to investigate on their own. In lecturing the Sutra, you cannot explain everything in full, for if you did, it's not known when we would finish lecturing this Sutra. Not only with long Sutras, even with short Sutras you cannot fully explain all the meanings. Even if a Sutra is short, it takes a long time to completely explain its meanings.
