第二梯次「沙彌先修班」的開訓典禮，於農曆四月八日（陽曆五月＋一）星期四上午在佛誕浴佛儀式後舉行，典禮由比丘恆實師和恆律師共同主持，莊嚴肅穆的萬佛寶殿內顯得喜氣洋洋。大眾在三沐佛身後，身心倍感清淨；緊接著隨喜觀禮兩位沙彌先修班學員的開訓儀式，並默默地為他們祝福。
一位學員是來自臺灣的劉王霖居士，法名親霖，臺灣高雄旗山農業工業職業學校退休的教師；另一位是馬來西亞的王俊傑居士，法名親傑。二位原都不是上人的皈依弟子，但在接觸上人的法之後，對聖城起了歸屬感。兩位新學員在當天受八關齋戒，往後半年的訓練，生活型態上將完全與聖城的出家人一樣。

The opening ceremony for the second Shramanera Trainee Program was held following the Bathing the Buddha Ceremony on the Buddha's birthday (the morning of Thursday, May 11, the eighth day of the fourth lunar month).
Bhikshus Heng Sure Shr and Heng Lyu Shr presided at the opening ceremony, and the solemn atmosphere of the Buddha Hall was filled with joy. Purified by the bathing of the Buddha, everyone observed the two trainees begin their training program and silently wished them well.
One trainee, Upasaka Liu Yu-lin of Taiwan, Dharma name Qin Lin, is a retired high school teacher of Agri-Industrial Vocational School of Chi-Shan in Kaohsiung, Taiwan.
The other, Upasaka Wang Jun-jie, Dharma name Qin Jie, is from Malaysia. Neither had taken refuge with the Venerable Master before, but after they heard the Master's Dharma, they felt that the City of Ten Thousand Buddhas is where they belong. The two trainees received the eight precepts that day. In the next six months, they will assume the lifestyles of monks at the City.
