知定大法師訪萬佛聖城及譯經學院
Dharma Master Jr Ding Visits the City of Ten Thousand Buddhas
and the International Translation Institute

【本刊訊】夏威夷檀香山虛雲寺創建人知定大法師,於六月十二日,訪北加州法界佛教總會萬佛聖城,並於六月十五日,參觀柏林根市國際譯經學院。同行者,尚有法亮法師及蘇少波居士。他們在譯經學院,目睹彌足珍貴的《龍藏》。這部《龍藏》,是最近大陸重印的,版本是二百五十年前清朝乾隆皇帝的木刻本。

知定大法師亦參觀譯經學院旁,法界佛教總會總辦事處,以及總會成立的至聖研究院。

知定大法師與法界佛教總會主席宣化上人,於一九四七年在廣東南華寺,首次謀面。此次來訪,使近五十年,跨越三大洲的雙方情誼甚洽。


(Announcement) Dharma Master Jr Ding Visits the City of 'Ten Thousand Buddhas and the International Translation Institute. On Wednesday, June 15, 1993, Ven. Dharma Master Jr Ding, Abbot of Hsu Yun Monastery of Honolulu, Hawaii, paid a courtesy call on the CTTB and the International Translation Institute, in Burlingame.

Accompanying Jr Ding was Dharma Master Fa Liang, also of Hawaii, and Upasaka Su Shau-bo, of San Francisco. The guests toured the Translation Institute, where they viewed the magnificent Dragon Edition" of the Tripitaka, reprinted recently on the mainland from the 250 year old wood-block editions ordered by the Chien Lung Emperor of the Ching Dynasty.

Ven.Dharma Master Jr Ding visited the DRBA Administration offices, at the Magnolia Avenue Translation Center, and also toured the future home of Jr Sheng Graduate School, on El Camino Real in San Mateo. He is in the Bay Area for a few days after dedicating a new temple in Denver, Colorado.

Ven.Dharma Master Jr Ding first met the Ven. Abbot of the DRBA, Master Hsuan Hua, at Nan Hua Monastery in Guangdong Province in China in 1947. His visit today continues their nearly fifty year relationship across three continents.


【本刊訊】宣公上人於六月一日,在洛杉磯長堤聖寺接見中國東北政教一行九人,他們預計將在萬佛聖城停留一個月。   (Announcement) On the 1st of June at Long Beach Sagely Monastery in Los Angeles, Venerable Master Hsuan Hua met with a group of nine political and religious people from North-East China. They will be in The City of Ten Thousand Buddhas for about one month.
