摘自聯合報 taken from Associated Press

(Taiwan) Chau Wei-yen, a student of Feng-jya Junior High School in Gau-syung, comes from a poor family. Yet when he found NT $350,000 (about US$13,000) in cash on February 24, he was not tempted, and went straight home to tell his mother. His mother instructed him to go back to where he had found the money and wait for the owner, adding that he should not return home before the owner came. Chau Wei-yen waited at the spot for a long time, and afterwards did not mention the incident to others. The owner, Deng Sung-ywan, was greatly moved. He related the event to the school and requested that the student be commended.

Chau Wei-yen said that when he saw the money, he immediately remembered how four years ago when his father was battling illness, he always said, "A person has to be honest!" Therefore, when receiving the praise of the school, Chau Wei-yen cried out, "This is what my father taught me to do."
