示戒明
慢為功德賊　勤為善法王
福水慧舟輯　無水舟不行
欲求真實慧　莫從耳口商
苦志勞筋骨　大任乃克將
福至心忽開　妙義能頓彰
深造既自得　世智誰可量

Selected Works of Great Master Ou Yi

Arrogance is the thief of virtue,
Diligence is the king of wholesome Dharmas.
The boat of wisdom plies the water of blessings,
But without that water, the boat will not move.
If one wishes to seek genuine wisdom,
It does not come from discussions using mouth and ears.
Only through bone-and-sinew-wearying toil and determination,
Can the great responsibility be discharged.
When blessings are sufficient, the mind suddenly opens,
And the wondrous meaning is right away revealed,
Advance more profoundly and attain it for yourself,
Who could measure it with worldly wisdom?
