SPENDS NEW YEARS AT SHIH TZU SHAN MONASTERY #46

      On Shih Tzu Peak in Chiang P'u county, over seventy miles to the northwest of the town of P'u K'ou, was a large grass hut. Within it dwelt a well-seasoned cultivation of dhyana meditation, who was renowned for possessing the Way. His fame had spread everywhere. When the old adept ascended the Dharma seat, the people came in endless flows of uncountable numbers to listen. The Master Yun also followed the path there, and, because it was convenient, he spent New Years there.

The Gatha says:

The Lion Mountain Monastery

Is where the lions dwell;

While dragons and elephants secrete themselves

In the dragon/elephant abodes.

Fused together in the cosmic furnace

One is wrought and forged,

Great and virtuous eminent Sanghins

All from here emerge.
