INTRODUCING THE EMINENT DHARMA MASTER
BHIKSU CHIH MING

Dharma Master Chih Ming's family name was Chiang. He was born in T'ien Tsin, Hupeh Province, China, in June, 1906. An educated man, he is a graduate of ' Tien Tsin Middle School and the Chekiang Hang Chou Buddhist Academy. A citizen of the Republic of China, he left the Republic over ten years ago and finally took up residence in Brasil.

      Buddhism began to grow in Brasil nearly a century ago and has a substantial following today. Holding abbotships in both Burma and Brasil, the former Chiao Mai Avalokitesvara Temple, the latter the Sao Paulo Amitabha Temple, and serving on the Propagation Committee of the Chinese Buddhist Association have qualified Bhiksu Chih Ming to fill the position of chairman of the Chinese Buddhist Association of Brasil, a post which  he has held for many years. He currently resides in Sao Paulo.
